The boys and girls are working hard to take care of themselves and put their coats on.  Please continue to teach them how and allow them to try at home.

We have learned a lot about pumpkins and will begin learning about apples and how they grow.  As always, if you have something to share for the science table please send it in.

Now that the weather is becoming colder, the children will be wearing coats and sweaters to school.  Please help your child learn how to put on his/her coat or sweater by himself/herself.  Please make sure all clothing is labeled because children forget what belongs to them.

Your child will need an extra set of clothes to keep at school in case of accidents or spills.  Please send in long pants and long sleeve shirts for the cooler weather.

The "Meet Our Friends " book is almost finished!!!  I will send you a copy as soon as I get it done.

We are in need of autumn items for our science table.  I have brought in a sunflower (that included inchworms) for the children to investigate.  Please have your child bring in items to leave at the table.

We are working on the following skills at school:
1) Using our manners- Saying, "May I please have _____.  Thank you" instead of "Give me _____!"
2) Counting everything (up to 20).  We count friends, toys, fingers.  Please count with your child at home.
3) Patterns- Finding patterns on clothing (stripes) and creating patterns (red, blue, red, blue...).

We are also sharing how to be safe in an emergency.  Today we will "Stop, Drop, and Roll" and crawl under smoke to get away from fire.  We have practiced a fire drill, evacuation, and lockdown.

WOW, we are learning so much!!!!!

The boys and girls have been working on writing their name.  I will send home a sample so they can practice at home too.

Next week we will talk about being safe.  We will discuss fire safety.  Please discuss fire safety at home so your child knows what to do and where to go in case of an emergency.  I will ask the children to share with the class what the safety rules are at home.

WOW!!!  The children are all making progress towards following rules and routines.  They are starting to play nicely with friends but still need a few reminders.
We are still learning how to be in school but soon we will learn about the season of autumn.  If your child finds some autumn things outside and they would like to share them with the children in class, please send the items in.
Thank you to those who have returned the information for the Meet Our Friends Book.  I am working on getting the information put together and will send home books as soon as I can.
I have heard great things about the communication notebooks.  I will try to write in them as much as I can but probably not every night.
I am also trying to stay up to date on using Brightwheel to communicate with families.  Thank you for your patience in waiting for postings.
