About Karen

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share a little about what will be happening in our preschool class.

My name is Karen Drolet. The children call me Miss Karen. I have an elementary education degree from the University of Rhode Island and I have fulfilled early childhood requirements at the Community College of Rhode Island. I am in the process of earning my master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Rhode Island College. I hold a Rhode Island Department of Education Certificate in early childhood and elementary education. I have completed the necessary Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards courses offered by the Rhode Island Department of Education.

My professional experience includes the following: teaching in the Universal Pre-K classroom at Capt. Hunt School (3 yrs.), co-teaching kindergarten at Robertson School (6mos.), co-teaching Title I Reading at Ella Risk School (6mos.), and teaching preschool at Covenant Cooperative Nursery School (4yrs).

I am married to my husband Kevin who is a Special Educator at Central Falls High School.  Together we have three daughters: Leah (20), Hannah (20), and Emma (17). Our favorite times are spent with our children swimming at the beach/pool, watching them participate in sports such as volleyball, camping, and playing games.
